Manchester Subaru - Proud Sponsor of Animal Rescue League of NH
When you walk into Manchester Subaru, you're greeted by friendly faces and welcoming voices. When you walk in with a puppy, however, their dog-loving staff scurries with smiles to "Share the Love." In mid-December, League President & CEO, Monica Zulauf, and Development Coordinator, Kelly O'Toole, visited the dealership with Miko, a brown lab mix, in tow. It was Miko's first outing after being rescued in a local puppy-mill sting conducted by The League's own Outreach Director, Maureen Prendergast.
Seated behind a large L-shaped desk in the "big office" was Todd Berkowitz, Owner of Manchester Subaru. To the left of the desk was a portrait of Noah, Todd's grey-muzzled Chocolate Lab, who just happened to strike an uncanny resemblance to Miko, right down to the little white flecks on his paws. What started as a business meeting had quickly gone to the dogs, as Manchester Subaru's dog-savvy staff swarmed for a glimpse of sweet little Miko, who quickly made herself right at home on Todd's desk. Miko had stolen the show, and the hearts of the Manchester Subaru family.
The Berkowitz family adopted Miko, and affectionately named her "Winni" after their favorite NH getaway, Lake Winnipesaukee. Noah welcomed his little doppelgänger into the boss' office, sharing the esteemed role of being Manchester Subaru's beloved canine mascot.
In effort to help other homeless dogs, like Winni, find loving homes of their own, Todd enrolled Manchester Subaru in the Animal Rescue League of NH's 2016 Business Partners Program, a commitment to helping pets and the people who care for them, that embodies "Love. It's what makes a Subaru a Subaru."
